Poclain at the Heart of a Collective Drive for the Future of Machining Jobs
On September 22, Poclain hosted the latest meeting of the Oise machining professional’s movement at its Verberie site. An initiative led by UIMM (The Union of Metalworking Industries) to strengthen the attractiveness of machining careers and develop the skills needed for the industry of tomorrow.
The meeting brought together representatives from industrial companies in the region, training institutions, and employment stakeholders. Together, they discussed the challenges of recruitment, training, and knowledge transfer related to machining professions.
A Major Challenge for Our Industry
Machining is at the heart of many strategic industrial sectors. However, companies are now facing significant challenges: retirements, evolving skills requirements, growing recruitment needs, and the need to make these professions more attractive to younger generations and job seekers.
In response to these challenges, cooperation between manufacturers, training organizations, and institutional stakeholders is emerging as a key lever for preparing the future.
This is precisely the mission of the Oise machining professional’s movement, which works to raise awareness of machining careers, support skills development, and encourage new vocations.
Developing, Sharing, and Promoting Skills
Through a tour of the production site and several presentations, participants discovered Poclain’s approach to training and knowledge transfer.
The teams presented the Poclain Hydraulics Training Center (PHTC), the Poclain Academy, and the Dojos deployed in the Group’s plants, as well as certification and skills development programs for machining operators.
This approach is based on a strong conviction: skills are a pillar of industrial performance. They help support the evolution of professions, drive technological transformation, and sustainably ensure Poclain’s operational excellence worldwide.
Today, Poclain is also experimenting new pathways to identify, train, and certify future employees in order to meet the growing needs of machining et assembling professions.
Acting Locally to Build the Industry of Tomorrow
By hosting this meeting, Poclain reaffirms its commitment to the economic and social development of the regions where the company operates.
Beyond its own skills needs, Poclain actively contributes to the collective momentum driven by manufacturers, schools, and employment partners to promote technical professions and strengthen the appeal of industry among younger generations.
This collective mobilization is essential to preserve strategic industrial know-how and prepare the talents who will shape the industry of tomorrow.
