Poclain recently hosted its Spring distributor training at its premises in Yorkville, Wisconsin, welcoming North American distributors for a training designed to onboard new partners and strengthen their understanding of Poclain’s hydraulic, and electric solutions.

This two‑day training reflects Poclain’s strong commitment to empowering its distributor network with comprehensive, up‑to‑date technical and application knowledge, enabling them to seize business opportunities quickly and confidently.

A strong commitment to distributor onboarding and empowerment

At Poclain, distributors play a key role in delivering the right solutions to customers and end users. This Spring distributor training was specifically designed for distributors who are new to Poclain’s portfolio or new to the hydraulic industry, ensuring they start with a solid and structured foundation.

By investing in training early on, we empower our distributors to become true partners, fully aligned with Poclain’s approach and expertise.
Ignacio Llamares, VP Sales

“Our goal is to give distributors the confidence they need to represent Poclain, discuss our solutions with clarity, and support their customers from the very first interaction,” explains Ignacio Llamazares, from Poclain’s Sales team. “By investing in training early on, we empower our distributors to become true partners, fully aligned with Poclain’s approach and expertise.”

By focusing on onboarding and empowerment, Poclain ensures that its distributors are not only familiar with the brand but also capable of delivering added value throughout the entire customer lifecycle.

A comprehensive Level 1 distributor training covering the full portfolio

This two‑day training was delivered by a mix of Poclain Sales and Application Engineers, combining technical expertise with real‑world application knowledge. The agenda covered a wide range of topics to provide a complete overview of Poclain’s offering.

Participants attended in‑depth presentations on Poclain’s full range of products, including motors, pumps, valves and electronics, as well as an introduction to Poclain’s hydraulic and electric solutions

The objective was to ensure that distributors clearly understand how these systems work together to meet the performance, efficiency and reliability challenges faced by mobile machinery manufacturers. The training was structured to help distributors address any technical or commercial topic and confidently accompany their customers from machine design to operation and aftermarket support.

From products to applications: hands‑on learning and real‑world use cases

Beyond classroom sessions, the Spring distributor training strongly emphasized hands‑on learning. Participants took part in a factory tour, giving them direct insight into how Poclain products are designed, manufactured and tested.

The program also included an overview of application examples, allowing distributors to see how Poclain systems are used in real machines and real working conditions. A highlight of the training was the demonstration of an electrified loader. Designed to address challenges such as energy efficiency, emissions reduction and precise machine control, the e‑loader showcases how Poclain’s hydraulic and electric solutions can be combined to deliver high performance in compact, demanding applications.

Another highly appreciated session was the MS motor teardown, which provided a detailed look at radial piston technology. This hands‑on approach helped distributors who were unfamiliar with Poclain or with radial piston motors better understand the robustness, efficiency and versatility of these products.

“What I enjoy most is connecting our technology to real applications,” says Joe Iberl, trainer and Application Engineering Manager at Poclain. “By discussing concrete use cases with distributors, we translate technical knowledge into practical solutions for their customers.”

Equipping distributors with tools and long‑term support

In addition to products and applications, the training also covered Poclain’s e‑shop and aftermarket support services. These sessions were designed to ensure distributors are fully equipped with the digital tools and support resources needed to assist their customers efficiently, well beyond the initial sale. This holistic approach reinforces Poclain’s ambition to support distributors at every stage, providing not only advanced technology but also the services and tools required for long‑term success.

The Spring distributor training brought together 10 distributors from companies such as Sunsource, DTS, PPC, Hydro Air, Power Systems and GS Global, alongside numerous Poclain experts from sales and applications teams. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, particularly regarding the quality of the content, the expertise of the presenters and the open technical discussions.

This Level 1 training is the first step in a broader training strategy. Poclain will continue to invest in more advanced and hands‑on sessions to further enhance distributor capabilities, with a joint Level 1 and Level 2 training already planned for the fall.
