The Climate Fresk: A Catalyst for Poclain’s CSR Strategy
Safety and Sustainability: A Collective Commitment
Our progress in safety and environmental performance is the result of a strong collective commitment to Poclain’s HSEEn and CSR policies. Alongside major Group-wide priorities—such as reducing energy consumption in our industrial processes and buildings—we actively encourage resource-efficient behaviors and local initiatives at our production sites and commercial subsidiaries across more than 20 countries.
The Climate Fresk is one of the tools we use to accelerate awareness of global climate issues and to ask the right questions—both within our business and in our personal lives. Thanks to a committed and growing global community, this educational workshop developed by the Climate Fresk nonprofit helps raise awareness among all stakeholders—professionals and citizens alike—who are shaping the transition.
Empowering Poclain’s Change Agents

Johan Lamour, Christophe Pralus, and Xavier Bommelaer have joined the global network of 93,000 trained Climate Fresk facilitators—or "freskers"—active in 168 countries. At Poclain France, they play a hands-on role by sharing scientific insights and raising awareness on complex environmental topics.
As part of this international community, they help drive the mindset and action needed to succeed in our sustainability transformation—leveraging our HSEEn and CSR goals. So far, over 100 Poclain employees in France will participate in this engaging, interactive training—joining the 2.1 million people worldwide who have taken part. This promising start will soon be extended to more countries across the Group.
Facilitator or Participant: Why Not You?
The Climate Fresk workshop fosters reflection, teamwork, and rich discussions among colleagues—because climate change affects all of us, in our work and our daily lives.

Accessible to everyone, the workshop lasts three hours and is powered by an interactive deck of 42 cards. It can be delivered on-site or virtually for groups of up to 14 participants.
"Facilitating Climate Fresk workshops is a hands-on way for me to raise awareness about environmental issues and help my colleagues better understand the stakes. These moments of reflection spark real conversations—and often a desire to take action. It's also a great opportunity to link our company’s strategic goals with daily actions. Through these workshops, I help bring our CSR values to life and embed climate concerns into our corporate culture," Johan Lamour says.

Collective Action to Reduce Our Environmental Impact
Better energy management, optimized resource use, and waste reduction are not only good for the environment—they also help reduce operational costs. Since 2022, and as part of the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), Poclain has been measuring its carbon footprint annually (Scope 1 & 2), calculating Scope 3 emissions, and advancing along its 2030 environmental roadmap.
Beyond major Group initiatives, every team can contribute by implementing local actions that reduce our environmental impact:
- Sustainable water use at our Pondicherry site in India
- Two eco-design projects at the Innovation Center in France
- Wood pallet recycling in Yorkville, USA
- REMANufacturing of motors for select customers
- CSR achievements in Brno, Czech Republic, recognized by a university program
Each of these initiatives is a small but meaningful step toward ecological transition—and better quality of life.
In 2024, Poclain’s collective efforts earned a Silver Medal from sustainability ratings agency EcoVadis. Furthermore, our participation in the United Nations Global Compact will strengthen employee training on environmental and business ethics topics.
Together, these actions support our ambition to deliver efficient, sustainable solutions that meet our customers' own decarbonization challenges.
