Poclain receives Caterpillar Award for Excellence as a Supplier in India
We are pleased to announce that our India facility has been awarded Caterpillar's Supplier Quality Excellence Process Award for 2023.
This award recognizes suppliers who meet Caterpillar's excellence requirements and standards in several areas including quality, cost, speed, continuous improvement process and management.
The highest level of certification from Caterpillar
Our plant in India received the highest-level award from Caterpillar Building Construction Products for 7 consecutive years from 2016 to 2022.
In 2023, Poclain Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd. met all the eligibility criteria, including the performance of process audits, to once again achieve the highest level of certification in the Supplier Quality Excellence Process.
This award is the result of the involvement and teamwork of our teams in every step of the production process. To celebrate this recognition, Frederic Michelland, Group CEO, visited the local team. He highlighted the great performance of the Indian team and the improvements made in the plant in 2022.
Caterpillar visit to Pondicherry
In June, Caterpillar's supplier management team visited the Pondicherry plant to personally hand over the Excellent level award to us. The award was presented by Mr. Jayaram Parameswaran - Global Category Procurement Manager and Mr. Stephan Babu - Procurement Manager and was received by our Indian cross functional team along with the sales team.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Sundaramurthy - Category Buyer & Mr. Arunkumar Muthukumarasamy - Supplier Development Engineer from Caterpillar India were also present.
During this visit, the Caterpillar team visited our factory and gave positive feedback regarding our plant safety, 5S and quality culture.
After more than 10 years of close relationship with Caterpillar, we are proud to receive this award for the 8th consecutive year, making us one of the few suppliers with such consistent performance in India. We are proud to be the only one out of 60 suppliers in India to be awarded Excellence level this year.
